The Guided Tour is an animated introduction to all the significant features of Lotus® 1–2–3® for Macintosh® Release 1.1. For a brief description of the tour's contents, see “What to Read Next” in the Start Here book. Unlike the 1–2–3 for Macintosh program, there are no licensing restrictions for duplicating the Guided Tour. You can make and distribute as many copies as you like.
NOTE: Installing the Guided Tour is optional — you don't need it to run 1–2–3.
Installing the tour takes several minutes. However, you only need to do it once. When you install the Guided Tour, 1–2–3 creates a folder called 1–2–3 Guided Tour at the top level of your hard disk. This folder requires 3200K. If your hard disk space is limited, you may want to delete the 1–2–3 Guided Tour folder after taking the Tour.
CAUTION: Before you install the Guided Tour, you need to turn off any virus protection software (such as SAM™ Intercept) that you're running.
To install the 1–2–3 Guided Tour:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Insert the 1–2–3 Tour 1 disk into your floppy-disk drive.
You see a window containing 1–2–3 Tour files and folders.
2. Double-click the 1–2–3 Tour Installer icon.
3. Click Install.
You see a dialog box that asks you where you want to install the Guided Tour.
4. Change the current folder or drive if necessary.
5. Leave “1–2–3 Guided Tour” as the folder name or enter a new name.
6. Click Install to begin installing the Guided Tour.
Follow the instructions to complete the installation.
CAUTION: The MacroMind Director® Player that runs the Guided Tour is incompatible with the Møire 3.22 screen saver. If the Møire 3.22 screen saver is installed on your Macintosh, you must turn it off before you run the Guided Tour.
To start the Guided Tour:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Double-click the 1–2–3 Guided Tour folder to open it.
2. Double-click the Guided Tour of 1–2–3 icon.
You see the opening screen for the tour with instructions for how to proceed.
NOTE: When you run the Guided Tour on a color monitor with at least 1900K of memory available, the Tour changes the Monitors setting to Colors even if you had it set to Grays. To reset your monitor to Grays after you take the Tour, choose Control Panel(s) from the Apple menu and change the Monitors setting.
